Mama Agnes Ochilo Last Mile Outreach Program Launch

Migori County Department of Health Services in partnership with Amref Health Africa and Mama Agnes Ochilo Foundation launched the much needed Last Mile Access Mobile Vehicle Clinic (MVC) trailer. The MVC funded by astrazeneca was donated by Amref Health Africa and will now be referred to as the ‘Mama Agnes Ochilo Last Mile Access Program’: This innovative initiative involves the deployment of a Mobile Clinic that will provide integrated services to the residents of Migori County, reaching even the most remote areas. The program aims to enhance access to Primary Health Care services, particularly for under-served communities within the county. The Mobile Vehicle Clinic (MVC) is equipped with solar connectivity, a water tank, and other essential components for infection prevention and waste management, similar to a regular health center or dispensary. The envisioned services for integration include Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension screening, HPV Vaccination, cervical cancer screening, routine Immunization, Covid-19 Vaccination, Reproductive Health Services, and various routine Primary Healthcare interventions. The official launch was done in Dede modern market in Awendo Sub-County by Hon Caleb Opondi the CECM for Public Service Management and Devolution on behalf of the Governor, Migori County.
